The Ultimate Spring Home Maintenance Checklist
Winter is brutal on a home. This 25-item spring checklist prevents 90% of summer emergency repairs.
Exterior Checklist
- Clean gutters and check downspout extensions
- Inspect roof for missing shingles or damaged flashing
- Power-wash siding, deck, and driveway
- Reseal wood decks with a UV-protective stain
- Check foundation for cracks and seal any over 1/8 inch
- Trim vegetation 3+ feet away from all walls
HVAC & Plumbing
- Schedule AC tune-up before the first 90° day
- Test sump pump by pouring a bucket of water in the pit
- Turn on outdoor spigots and check for burst-pipe leaks
